The Dixon Chamber of Commerce and Main Street hosting a ribbon cutting at the new Welcome Center and offices

The Dixon Chamber of Commerce and Main Street announce the Grand Re-Opening of their office at its new location, 87 South Hennepin Avenue in Dixon. The celebratory event will be held November 16th from 1:00pm to 3:00pm, and is open to the public. A ribbon cutting will be conducted, followed by refreshments and an open house for visitors to the Welcome Center.

Dixon Chamber of Commerce and Dixon Main Street merged their programs through the efforts of a task force designated by the two entities and the City, called Dixon One. Throughout the processes the City has provided technical and financial support for the merger. In return, the new Dixon Chamber of Commerce and Main Street is now tasked with management of the Dixon Welcome Center and tourism marketing. "I am very excited about the City's marketing and tourism partnership with the Dixon Chamber of Commerce & Main Street. Our community needs to aggressively market the many great events, activities, businesses, and opportunities we have. Partnering with DCCMS is a fantastic way to do that!" commented Mayor Liandro Arellano.

President and CEO, Stacey Colledge, says the new organization is working to blend the tourism and economic development agendas. The new mission statement reflects that commitment: “For the betterment and growth of Dixon, the Dixon Chamber of Commerce and Main Street advocates for our businesses, community, and visitors by promoting economic development, cultural programs, civic engagement and historic preservation.”

“We will be rolling out some new ventures in the coming months. Our new logo and mission statement are just the start,” says Ms. Colledge. According to Ms. Colledge, some of the other ventures that Dixon Chamber of Commerce and Main Street have been considering are additional advertising options for their members, financial resources for businesses looking to start up or expand in the area, and a tourism grant for organizations who draw visitors to Dixon. Interim City Manager Danny Langloss said, "The City is very excited about the new Dixon Chamber of Commerce and Main Street.  They are poised to make a significant impact in small business development and recruitment.  Their innovation in community events is key to making Dixon a destination. We cannot wait to see the great things that are sure to come.”
