World War II re-enactment (10:00 am)

Each June WWII is recreated in Dixon, IL at Elks Page Park to commemorate the Second World War.  This spectator event gives a glimpse of life on the front lines in France, 1944 through Living History by members of the World War Two Historical Reenactment Society.  You will be able to see firsthand the typical life of "Willie and Joe", the American dogface soldier, along with battle hardened German troops, and experience the sights and sounds of a WWII battle.  Original American armored vehicles and rare examples of German equipment will be on display and operational during the weekend.

Elks Page Park will be transformed into a war zone June 24-25 during the re-enactment.  June 24 hours are 9:30 am to 5:00 pm with battles at 11 am and 3 pm.  June 25 hours are 10:30 am to 3:30 pm with a battle at 2 pm.  Elks Page Park is at 7883 S. Lowell Park Road, Dixon.  Admission is $5 per person or $10 per carload. WWII veterans get in free.  Go to http://wwii-recreated-dixon.weebly.com/ for more information.
